Auburn is about to put out some land for lease in the following counties:

Similar to State Lands leases it will be done by sealed bid and there will be a minimum $ per acre bid. Hunting lease liability insurance is required.

Man I was hoping this was some of the land behind the Preserve subdivision off FarmVille road. Used to hunt what is know the preserve and it was some of the best hunting around, but still always wished would could cross that fence line on to “university land”

The four leases mentioned have been posted to the AU Procurement & Business Services website: http://www.auburn.edu/administration/business-finance/pbs/bid-calendar.html

All will bid on Wednesday August 21st at 10:30 AM. Please read all of the bid instructions carefully. Failure to submit all the correct paperwork could result in your bid being rejected.

Only negative to the Camden property is Eliis Island Road, public boat launch, and the Gees Bend Ferry, splitting the property in half. Lots of easy access points for locals to get dropped off and tennis shoe hunt it. Other than that, It should be a great piece from all other aspects; location, excellent timber mix, gates and fields in place, powerline, lease access, proximity to the river, etc. It's prime, other than the public road. Four of us were up at our camp and rode by to look at it this past weekend. Based on what I saw, I'm betting it is absolutely loaded with both turkeys and deer.

Can you get permission to go look at these properties before the bid is placed?

If i had to guess, I'd say probably $15/acre. Shouldnt be too hard to find out. I'd assume it would be public information since it is a public university
