There is no âbringing of any outside refreshmentsâ on the course. I know it gets done, we just havenât caught them yet. Amazing how people love to take money out of other peoples pockets by sneaking stuff on. Just like shoplifting in my eyes.
Iâve always figured that courses would make way more money if they charged $1.50 or so for an 85 cent can of bud light as opposed to $3.25. Price gouging isnât really any better than âshop liftingâ
Well, you would be wrong. Sure you can goto a gas station and buy a 6 pack much cheaper. But that Gas station doesn't have the liability insurance, the 4-5 servers that it takes to serve, the liability insurance, the people sneaking it on the course at any price, the liability insurance-- it's pretty high. Also, we are in the golf business, not the beer selling business. We don't want everyone buying a 12 pack and going out and power drinking for 4 hours. That turns a 4 hour round into a 6 hour round. Then it put the liability (there's that word again) on the course for over serving. This being a golf thread, ask Tiger about over serving patrons. There is way more involved into pricing items than just marking it up XXX amount.
