After reading this thread........ I caught one really good this evening and paced it off at 266. That’s mashed for me. I envy you guys that hit it 300+ Every time. If I could do that and had a wedge into every green i think I could be a scratch golfer on these local courses

That’s the true difference between tour players and the amateurs. They have the complete game day in day out where as we all struggle to hit the driver, long irons, short irons and make putts when needed.

A long ball hitter is not necessary but on a few PGA Tour courses. If it was Tom Watson, Gary Player and whole host of others would’ve never won on tour.

I'll make this bet for the long ball hitters-- I'll host you at Timberline. Play from the back tees, For every drive you hit over 285- by rangefinder- And keep it in play, not necessarily in the fairway, but you have to be able to advance your next shot, I'll pay you $100, if not you pay me. There's 13 holes that you can use driver on. That's the opportunity to take $1300 from me.

You will not get any takers for this $1,300 day, I assure you. Despite the fact that there are so many 300 yard "average" golfers laugh beers

I don't make bets I know I can't win................

6 years ago, before I just hated the game, I was a 0 handicap. And I wouldn't even take this bet. I could hit it 300 with the right conditions, but usually around 260-275.
I did hit my longest drive ever on #3 at Timberline 368 with a ranger finder--------It's amazing how far a ball with go off a sprinkler head!!!!

to be fair, after scanning back through this thread I think there were only 2 or 3 people saying they could average 300+. The rest of us were saying that we averaged 270-280 and could hit it 300+ "occasionally".

I would take this bet but I would only hit driver 3-5 times. I’ve played that course many times over the years. Last time I played a distinctly remember driving the green on #5 which is ALL carry and no roll and was left of the pond on 18. I want to say I hit driver then 4 iron on #3. This was last fall. It’s an absolute beautiful course.

I ran into one of my old college teammates earlier this week. He plays out there daily. PM to you.

Sounds like we have a player. It is a beautiful course, but like Josh said, lots of holes it's better the leave the big stick in the bag.

While on the subject, just wanting to make sure that everyone knows just because you’re 180 out on a 480 yard hole, it doesn’t mean you hit it 300 yards off the tee.

Just getting that out there.

I’m sure everyone realizes that, but just foreseeing it as a possible point of confusion

I play with goobers who use that math all the time

If we're gonna do this.....the contestants need to use one of the [free] golf GPS apps to confirm. Or hell, you can even use one of the hunting apps to set waypoints at the tee and when you get to your drive, and measure the distance.

Isn’t that the place on the interstate? Surely we could sit in back of trucks and watch them on the range
