Have a buddy that has a black Tacoma. The hood and roof were faded bad and there was surface rust just starting to come through. Maaco painted just the roof and hood and it looks great (looks new to me). They charged him $400. It will look like garbage in a year. Or less. It might not hold up long term, but it has been a year or so and still looks good.

I had a 99 altima that the clearcoat had peeled on. I was gonna let my 16 year old daughter drive it for a year or so. Maaco in Dothan painted the whole car. IMO they did a good job for the $700 it costed me and the paint held up well until a freinds son totaled it out when he rearended someone.

MAACO makes money by investing minimal prep time they do not remove any trim if it cant be taped over it just gets painted. Anyone that has ever painted will tell you the time is in the prep actually painting a car only takes a few minutes MAACO will be the cheapest company you will find to do what you are asking, a cheap paint job to sell the vehicle. IMO you could find a local body shop tell them your intentions and they could probably do just as bad a job as MAACO for alot less money.

The truck looked great at 50 feet away, and looked great if waxed. But after a while, and many washes when you would empty your soap bucket you would pour out pink water lol.

Have for the last 30 years. The prep is actually what takes the most time. Spraying takes little to no time. Maaco is horrible. I repeat... Horrible. If people are good with a horrible cheap paintjob. Than that's fine. But that's exactly what they will get.

I don't see a local body shop being as bad as maaco. depending on the shop of course. Maaco's are consistantly bad.

Yup, a local private body shop as bad as Maaco won't stay in business very long in most cases.

I got an Earl Sheib job back in the 80's and it wasn't half bad.
