No doubt.....I'd gladly trade my driving distance for a consistent short game. I'm usually that guy that will play a par 5, be on in 3 or 4, about 10' from the cup, then 4 put for a double or triple. Or I'll land my 2nd shot right off the edge of the green, but when I go to chip on, I'll blade it and hit it 60yds behind the green.

My all time best was like 330 off the tee. But, it was an elevated tee box and we had a pretty strong and steady tail wind. I'll probably never do that again.

Not hard to hit one long if you have high club head speed and can hit ball dead on with the club face. Long and straight that is another story. One I have never been able to master. I can hit it 300 plus most of the time. It maybe 75 yards straight and 225 yard sliced into three fairways over.

I usually take a mulligan and then drop somewhere in the middle of the fairway where the ball should have gone.

Pretty sure the tour driving averages only count if they hit a fairway. That wasn't part of our discussion, right? Along that line, we should only count carry distance and forget about roll. I also didn't take into consideration any club but my driver. That definitely skews things.

It's my understanding that they attempt to select fairly obvious driver holes as well.

I average around 315-320. I can stretch one to around 350 five or take depending on conditions

Everyone exaggerates how far they hit the golf ball by about 20% After reading this thread, that might be a low estimate. If I hit a 260 yard drive in the fairway I’m tickled pink. X2. Who knew half of aldeer could hit it with the tour players. Impressive Hit with tour players? Hell, they are out driving them.
