If I get lucky and kill and "sho nuff good un" this season I'm gonna try to have it mounted. I would love to see some turkey mounts you guys have got. Warning - I may steal an idea or two. smile

Here's a bird I killed in NW Nebraska last year. It was done by Cole Mears in Mantachie MS.

One of the two best bird taxidermist in the country has a shop just north of you on Hwy 72. Shame Smith (Artistic Compositions) in Bridgeport.

Stop by and see his showroom, it is seriously nice.

He has done 1 Eastern for me and he has an Osceola of mine right now.

Buddy's Osceola

Another buddy's Goulds

Shane Smith is as good as it gets when it comes to mounting any kind of bird but get ready to fork out a lot of money.

Is there a big price difference in the pose (flying, strut, half strut)? I've heard that Shane is really expensive but I think it would be worth the price for the mount to look as lifelike as possible for as long as possible.

He called me before Christmas and said it was a week or two out. Should be ready anyday now. I'll post up some pics.... The Osceola is going to be full strut on the ground with the head upright and alert.

No price difference with Shane. Pricing is on the website.

WOO WEE! Guess I'd better start knocking down some overtime at work just in case I actually kill a good one this year. I've killed some really nice ones in the past that I wish now that I would have had mounted. I'm finally gonna follow through with it and have more than just a picture and a memory.
