A very LARGE one. Bigger the bait, the bigger the fish I reckon.
. Actually caught the fish on a saltwater Rapala with plated hooks. I found out quickly that they would straighten out the hooks on a freshwater model. It didn't seem to matter a lot what bait we used as long as it was white and big. If a fish was in the shoals, he was hungry and it wasn't hard to get him to hit. I made some of the lures out of a broom stick and they worked about as well as anything.
Morrell Caroll from Tallasee mounted that one for me not long before he died. He did a good job, but the mount is starting to show its age. Looks like it needs dusting too.
