Wow, sorry to hear this. Matt will be missed. Met Matt thru a mutual friend (Tatum). Back in the beginnings of Aldeer. As luck would have it . My wife and I were in the same Birthing classes as Matt and his wife for our oldest children. They are 19 now. RIP Matt. Praying for your family.

I opened this fully expecting some aldeer humor because there is no way Matt could be gone. I can’t explain how hard it hit me when there was no joke. I’ve gotten to know Matt, his Dad and much of his family over the last several years. I’m heartbroken for them.

I met Matt a couple of times and messaged with him a few. Just this past April, he messaged me out of the blue and told me of a spot he'd seen some turkeys on public land, and I mean all but gave me GPS coords. I never did kill one of those birds but found a lot of sign that he'd mentioned. Now, I know turkeys are a minor thing in the grand scheme of things, but turkey hunters that will willingly offer up that kind of Intel to someone that is, at best, an acquaintance, are few and far between. And it meant a lot to me. Matt sure seemed like a good dude. Sad news for sure.

Matt was there when Aldeer was bought from the guy in Tennessee. Matt didnt have the capital at the time but four of us did. Matt built the weird security and backward safety security we got here. So in Mangler style if somebody dares to try and hack Aldeer, odd's are they will end up in something swamp_fever cooked for supper. Its a brilliant mechanism that has been working for over 20 years.
