Drone was flying in international air space. That's what we said. Regardless it was a 100 million dollar machine. That is half of the GDP of our state in 2018. That isn't just what we said it's factual data. We have never flown into Iran. Iran recognizes 13 miles off their coast as theirs. The international community recognizes 12. I can guarantee we was outside both of these boundaries. What in really love is how certain members on here act like they know every single thing and claim this and that but don't know squat. There are members on here who work in this industry. Instead of just spewing crap out that you don't have a clue about maybe shut up and listen for a minute to what is being said.

Apparently a “measured response” is coming soon. Wouldn’t be surprised to wake up to news of bombs dropped on munitions storehouses over there

Hippie... not sure if you know this or not but Iran kind of hates America. They would love nothing more than to bomb every inch of this soil. Did you miss the videos of them chanting death to America? I don’t think it’s poking and poking but more like keeping our eyes on our enemy.
We know they don't like us, but the "why" is equally (if not more) important. If there is a reason (which I believe there has been since '53), perhaps we can move forward in a manner that reduces the hate that currently exists. 2 old adages come to mind: - Good fences make good neighbors (recognizing the "fence" is simply the means by keeping your nose in your own business) - Do unto others as you would have them do to unto you. **I'll graciously bow out of this thread now.** If by '53 you mean 553 AD or thereabouts when Muhammad was alive and reportedly writing the Koran, I will agree with you. If you mean 1953, you would be off quite a bit. Their hatred for the West goes back way before then.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

In 1953 the Muslims in that region definitely hated the west because they sided with the grand mufti who was aligned with Hitler during WWII

So Trump stated he thinks that maybe it was shot down by mistake, or by an idiot, but Iran made it very clear they shot it down on purpose. I'm not sure what Trumps plan is, guess we'll find out in the coming days...

He requested the Mula and he talk about the situation and the Mula declined. They see this as a victory. I see this as a pause in order to make a surprise attack instead of one they are wating on.

I think this is why Trump called off the strike. Putting the ball in their court makes them take the blame and admit guilt if they refuse to talk...smart move on Trumps part

Just seems to me like we poke... and poke... and poke... and poke...
We'd go ballistic if someone flew drones even remotely close to us. We'd lose our minds if someone floated a navy in our direction. We'd be in the streets with guns if a foreign country even hinted at blowing up something on our soil.
But we do it all around the world and act surprised when people hate us.
It's not our freedom. It's not our God. It's not our way of life.
It's because we just can't stand to leave people alone. The military industrial machine needs fuel.
Iran had no gain from this. Even Mo Brooks was doubting it this morning on the radio. We just hear what they want us to hear. My ex girlfriend years ago had a father whos job at NASA was to handle their info before it was realeased to the news. They lie like crazy.

Strike was going to kill 150 people. All over a drone theoretically being shot down. Not everything is worth a freaking trillion dollar war. Props to Trump for his discretion.

First thing: people need to make a distinction between Iranian people and their government.
Most of them are good people who actually like America and do not like their government.
*********
Next, people need to be aware of this sick sordid part of our own history with Iran:
"Contemporary era
Main articles: 1953 Iranian coup d'état,
Mohammad Mosaddegh, Iranian democracy advocate and deposed Prime Minister In 1951, Mohammad Mosaddegh was appointed as the Prime Minister. He became enormously popular in Iran after he nationalized Iran's petroleum industry and oil reserves. He was deposed in the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, an Anglo-American covert operation that marked the first time the United States had overthrown a foreign government during the Cold War.[162]
Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and the Imperial Family during the coronation ceremony of the Shah of Iran in 1967 After the coup, the Shah became increasingly autocratic and sultanistic, and Iran entered a phase of decades-long controversial close relations with the United States and some other foreign governments.[163] While the Shah increasingly modernized Iran and claimed to retain it as a fully secular state,[31] arbitrary arrests and torture by his secret police, the SAVAK, were used to crush all forms of political opposition.[164]
***********
Our CIA overthrew THEIR government and installed the Shah - so we could get THEIR oil - for cheap. And the Shah was a tyrannical dictator.
And then we backed and armed Iraq in its ten year war against Iran where a lot of Iranians were killed .
So they have plenty of reason to hate us - in addition to the fact that they are Muslim
**********
I said it before - the best way to deal with Iran or any other Muslim country is containment, not perpetual warfare.
And as far as the Persian Gulf is concerned, those rich Arab oil countries should defend it themselves. It is their oil they are selling and we get virtually no oil out of the Gulf. We are a net oil producer and exporter now. We don't need their oil anymore.
Founding Fathers warned against foreign entanglements, getting involved in other countries' wars and conflicts. And warned against going around the world in search of "dragons to slay" (bad guys to wage war against).

And when iran fought iraq and was winning and fixin to take over Iraq...the united states supplied hussein weapons to drive iran back. Hussein went into iran to start a war but the iranian army was stout and whipped Hussein til we helped stop it
