I had 2 one shot kills last winter with the x39 using wolf hp's. One was just beyond 100yds., one closer.

6.8
If .223 was such a show stopper none of these other calibers would exist. The reason they do exist is .223 left a little to be desired... when someone got past shooting Prairie Dogs.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

The 223 will easily kill anything in North America.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

It’s just hard to beat a 120gr accubond at 6.8 velocities, for stuff to 300 in an AR15 platform. If you want to hunt 20-24” barrels and shoot targets past 350-400, the Grendel will be easier. If you just want to tote a hunting weight AR and kill stuff, either would work, but the 6.8 is made for it.

Anyone have any experience with the 6x45 or the 25x45 Sharps?

Anyone have any experience with the 6x45 or the 25x45 Sharps? Just a little......they’re both good and tote more energy than a 5.56, with the 25 being more efficient, but having fewer bullets suitable.....but still likely plenty. Neither is going to be as effective (on deer/hog sized stuff) as the 6.5/6.8, due to case. Both will shoot flatter to 300, from what I recall. Both are tack drivers on accuracy and mild on recoil, and are fun at the range in bolt guns...which is all I’ve played with, for a bit.....both on others’ rigs.
