Lol. That’s not low carb. Those Natties are 6.9 carbs each. Yes I know you are kidding......

Nattys are only 3.2.

You are correct. I guess I was thinking about bud light but it is 6.6 I think. There are some new flavored something, water I think by smirnoff that is 1 carb best I remember.

That's a fine attitude as long as everything is in control. My mother in law has been worried about sugar since I have been talking so much about how bad it is. I told my wife she shouldn't worry about it at all since the alcohol and cigarettes will kill her long before sugar.

Lol. I usually drink Ultra not because I want to but because I have diabetes and everything else will spike my sugar. My diet is very strict and I don’t have to use insulin.

If you're gonna drink and want to do keto, just drink straight bourbon or whiskey. Put a couple cubes of ice in it. I sleep good if I drink about 3 ounces of whiskey before I go to bed. If I don't it takes me 1-2 hours to go to sleep. I drink that nearly every night. ZERO carbs. If you can't handle straight 100 proof whiskey you need to grow some anyway.

After a 8-10 day stall, I'm back in a great weight loss zone. I'll post up a Sunday morning before church update tomorrow.

At the 2 month mark, 6/4, I weighed 277. Last Sunday I weighed 280 and now I'm at 273. Summer is a frustrating time to lose weight if watching the scale is your main motivation. My hydration level makes a large difference in the scales. My mindset is improving and I'm focusing less on short term and thinking more long term. It gets better every day.

My hydration level makes a large difference in the scales. Hydration wasn't the issue with the weight loss stall. I'm not 100% sure but I think eating more tree nuts may have had an effect on that. I had been eating pecans for breakfast instead of eggs. After consulting the aldeer experts regarding the plateau I ate more carbs for 2 days. After doing that I ate no carbs for 2 days. Nothing but meat and eggs like I did when I first started. I also cut my calories down to under 1500 per day for most of the week. The weight loss didn't start back until maybe Tuesday. A couple of days in a row the scales dropped 2 pounds per day. The scale swings due to hydration are mostly happening on or after Saturdays because I spend all day outside working. My mindset is continuing to improve. It's still amazing to me that less than 3 months ago I lived to eat and now food isn't a focus at all. I'm getting much closer to only viewing food as fuel. I'm past craving anything other than salty food after physical exertion. That's a metabolic/physiological craving so it's not really a food craving. That just means I need electrolytes. I don't crave potato chips or pretzels now when I crave salt. I want dill pickles now. I don't stress eat or boredom eat anymore. I'm focusing less on short term and thinking more long term. It gets better every day.

1. CONGRATULATIONS on the great success to-date - stick with it you’re doing GREAT!!!
2. I found your dill pickle comment funny; since, I have never really liked dill pickles, but I have been crushing/craving dill pickles lately as mid-afternoon snacks since being on this diet.

Much like you - I am inspired by several of the members here that have shared their experiences on this diet. It has been a great help. So, thanks to everyone that shared their thoughts and experiences.

OK buddy I have lost 10-12 lbs per month for every month since last August. I am going to share one big secret with you. You got to crap it out! I honestly don't eat until I am clean inside from my last meal. What I eat depends on how long it takes. I also eat less and less meat as I go. Meat takes about 3 days to get gone completely.

If I had pigged out one day on meat I might only eat a lot of sauteed spinach and a small piece of fish to clean out. The spinach will make me crap over a 3 rail fence. Sometimes you have to eat something or not eat something depending on how full your guts are.

To wrap up this crappy reply I'll say that if it takes you longer than a minuet to take a dump you aren't eating right. I know I'm 51 but I take a dump now faster than a piss, which don't seem good but it has worked for me..

I eat spinach pretty regularly. I had some today. It's really good sauteed in butter with fresh garlic, then scrambled in eggs. I try to eat enough fiber to stay pretty cleaned out. It also helps with staying hydrated.

Finally hit 40 lbs this morning. That last 2 pounds has been stubborn. Weighed 270.4 this morning. I found out this week that there is a doctor in Collinsville that specializes in nutrition and wellness, not pushing pills.. She has studied the ketosis diet in depth. I have an appointment with her Monday. She has a DPC office so for $50 per month I have 24/7 access to a keto expert. I hope she can give me good advice on pushing through the plateaus. One wrinkle with this last plateau was me getting a cortisone shot. That caused almost instant weight gain. I'm sure it was fluid but that still makes the scale go up.

Fur
Try to increase your activity level as you drop weight and feel like more and more. In the last month I've bought a mountain bike, got spider bit and got two antibiotic shots plus a steroid, and 7 prednizone tablets. I still rode about 20 miles of backcountry and lost 7 lbs. I used the steroids to give me an energy boost and burned it off while eating just as much as I needed to keep going.

All I'm telling you buddy is that, as your body heals, and make no mistake, being fat is just one symptom, you will feel like doing more and more and you will be even less hungry with less energy swings.

I think I'm going to start walking this week. I know I don't get enough exercise. Three months ago I didn't have the energy to exercise and now I am not allowing myself the time to do it. I've got lots of energy and I'm spending my spare time doing work around the house and farm that I've let go over the past several years, because I didn't feel like doing it. Work is exercise but a lot of what I'm doing is from a tractor seat so that doesn't count. My BP is still too high. I had expected it to drop by now but it's still actually higher than it was before I started Keto. Good thing is that I get to talk to 2 doctors next week about that. The doctor who is also a nutritionist and my normal doctor who is an internist. My semi annual appointment to see him l is Tuesday. I'll get a full blood work up done so I'll be able to compare the readings to what they were 6 months ago.

I heard that Keto makes your BP go up? Not sure if it's true, but that came from the wife
