So I've got a Kobalt 40v weedeater and the 40v blower. Both came with a battery and a charger and advertise the batteries being interchangeable. The only difference is the blower battery is 2.5Ah, while the battery that came with the weedeater is 3.0Ah.
As far as the weedeater and blower go, would you expect any noticeable difference in performance between the 2 batteries in either tool, or is 2.5 and 3.0Ah close enough to be negligible?

I would think the higher one would last longer as in use time. But I could be wrong.

If they are physically the same the 3 aH will last a little longer. Not really any difference.

The amp hour rating just refers to the length of time the charge will last in use, they're interchangeable. I recently bought a kobalt 40v pole saw. That thing is badazz, I've used it 3 or 4 times and I've worn out long before the battery every time

Yeah I've had the weedeater for a month or so and love it. Got the blower yesterday for my birthday and expect I'll like it just as much.

I have the 40V polesaw and my arms wear out way before the battery does. In fact, I've never drained that battery.
Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

I just bought the Kobalt 40v. It took me a while to figure out how to reload the string.

I just bought the Kobalt 40v. It took me a while to figure out how to reload the string. Ha....the first time I re-strung mine, it took me about 15 minutes and 3 tries, along with a lot of 4-letter words, simply because it was totally different than every weedeater I'd previously used. Once I figured it out, it's pretty simple.

I wish they made an edger... Recently picked up a GreenWorks Pro 60V Weed eater with an edger attachment from Lowes. Just wish I would have made the switch years ago.

The 3AH will last longer, but a .5AH difference is very small and may not even be noticeable.

I recently bought a kobalt 40v pole saw. That thing is badazz, I've used it 3 or 4 times and I've worn out long before the battery every time I had enough gift cards at Christmas I bought the 80v. It is a bad unit! I used it a ton with my lawn care business and I'm still on the original charge. It's about ready for a charge now but i cant believe how long it's lasted.

Wonder how long until battery takes over that market I bought a new weedeater and blower (both gas) two years ago. Echo dealer I bought from said he thought within 5 years...so from his estimation, about 3 more years.
