Well, got that beat. On my Son's HS team in the state two day on Neely Henry, we had a boy rare back to throw a square bill and hooked his partner in the eye! They air lifted the boy to UAB and THANK GOD he still has his eye. Very little damage if any to his eye. Boat captain bowed out next year, LOL.

If you fish enough with multiple fishermen in a confined space(boat) it's gonna happen. Been there done that. My first time was skipping school in my junior year. The worse part was trying to keep parents from finding out.

If the braided line trick wont work and the hook has a wide enough gap, just push it thru and clip it off with the pliers. Back when my oldest son was around 5 or 6, i looked and he was bent over the side of the boat trying to lip a bass with a face full of crankbait so quickly I grabbed the fish to keep him from getting hooked. Naturally it got me hooked up to the fish. We were a couple hours from the house and he couldnt do the line trick correctly so I just pushed it the rest of the way thru, clipped it off and then backed it out. He thought that was pretty cool. Getting hooked is just part of the game if you fish enough. I've been hooked more times than i care to remember. Mostly with topwaters and crankbaits.

I was a boat captain for a few years for my daughter I loved helping her and watching her fish but like Ben said it’s just a matter of time before someone gets killed!! It’s a money making by racket
