I am wanting to try fly fishing in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Do yall know of anybody that has ever fished in these areas before or even maybe towards Cherokee, NC. We go up there a couple times a year and I am wanting to give it a try.

1] Little Pidgeon River] going north on 321 out of Gatlinburg, turn left on 416 and access from the bridge. Good fishing for a couple miles below it.
2] Cosby Creek] North on 321 to Cosby Tenn. left at Tee. You'll see it.
We sometimes rent a cabin along one of these waterways. Dorothy Webb can hook you up on Cosby Creek.
Expect almost exclusively rainbows with a brown every blue moon. If you fish in the park, careful of the regs. Just brookies in the GSMNP.
PM me if interested and I'll dig up contact info.

I appreciate you telling me this. We are headed back this summer. Is there a certain month during the summer that is better than others or does it matter.

The later in the summer it is, the lower the creeks(they call some of them RIVERS up there) are, and it seems to me that the bite is better when the water is up. I like April and May.
I have never fished around Cherokee but a buddy fishes there occasionally. According to Him, You can almost walk across the backs of rainbows after the stock truck makes a drop.

Just got back from Cherokee about 2 weeks ago. Really good fishing in that area and a lot to choose from within a short drive. We fished the trophy section on the reservation as well as Deep Creek in the GSMNP.
Don't know much about the Tennessee side.
