I finally got around to reading it Elkhunter. Good thread. Might need to slap ole macout around a little but looks like the majority of the members don't really object to the cross bow as much as some had hoped that they did.

One more comment. I don't think the cross bow shooters should compete with the other shooters. Crap they might embarass them. I can understand where some of them might want to participate so let them compete against each other.
AS for as them being a "cocked" device, on the trail shoots, or what ever you call that where the contestants walk around in the woods shooting at dummies, they don't have to cock up until they get to the dummy.

BigJack this was the intent that we brought up in the board meeting Sat. that they would indeed have there on class to compete against one another.

I was in the BHA I would vote NO; I was invited to shoot a 3D deal several years ago with my xbow, but declined the offer. I would be interested in shooting a private range only to see how good or bad I am at it. I shot several BHA events back in the early 80's and had a good time competing. I would not want to force my way into a private club or organization. A lot of the BHA member hate xbows so why piss off your own to accommodate a few?

That is exactly what we have figured out. I looked at how many folks are wanting to compete with their crossbows in IBO. Dang, I can't believe they haven't cancelled the class. I think they had 4 in the Southern Triple Crown last year and 6 at the World Championship. Can you believe just 6!
