So today marks exactly one week for me. The last time I weighed myself (about 2 weeks ago) I was right about 211. Stepped on the shipping scales when I got to work this morning and I'm down to 206. I'd be tickled if I could see the upper 190's again in the next couple of weeks.

Keto sucks when you have a stomach virus. No Sprite and saltine crackers. I just can't get up the nerve to eat a boiled egg right now.

No carbs, no calories, it works. It also works great on cold days when you are outside hunting. Look into making bone broth as well.

Get back on it. You lived and learned. All it does is make it easier next time not to screw up.

We went to dinner at Jim n Nicks last night with my wifes dad and I noticed how much my appetite has changed in just a week and a half. Usually I'll take out a basket of those cheese biscuits myself and last night I didn't even have the urge to eat one at all. I've also realized how bad my portion control was before starting this.

That is exactly why I haven’t given myself an inch on this diet. If I do I’ll be out of control and it won’t stop. I know myself. I’ve got to retrain my brain. Thanks for the recommendations on for broth and pickle juice. I’ve had both and they were good and no guilt Today is the first day I’ve actually had a physiological craving for sweets. I guess that’s what you’d call it. Not a conscious craving for the taste of something sweet but like a kicking nicotine urge, except to eat something sweet. Not gonna happen

Can of whipped cream or breyer’s carb smart. I think that would just cause me more temptation. I'm gonna tee-total this for a while.

Friend of mine is freezing tubs of whipped cream. Gets a couple spoonfuls when the ice cream crave sets in.

I decided first of the year I was going to try to knock some weight off also. I'm 5'6, easy with the Shaw references, and weighed a little over 190. I ate whatever I wanted, sometimes healthy, more often not. I also consumed a substantial amount of liquid calories with Ol'Forrester and Buff Rock. I dropped the bourbon and buffalo rock, switched to vodka/soda, eliminated most carbs, and only ate till I wasn't hungry anymore. I also started running a couple times a week but have been unable to the last month due to an IT band issue. I have dropped right at 35lbs as of this morning. What I have found is as long as I control my portions, I can "cheat" on several meals during the week. I share Straycats love of Cheeseburgers and allow myself one every week or two. I have been maintaining around this weight for the last couple weeks and see 2-3 lb swings daily, but they don't seem to be tied to any of my cheat meals. The next phase is to get into some form of strength training to see if I can get this IT band worked out. I'm a firm believer that it has to be a lifestyle change otherwise it won't work, and I don't care to live without an awesome cheeseburger or huge plate of pasta once in a while!

Sunday was exactly 1 month for me on keto; although I didnt have a ton of weight to lose, I have dropped 8 lbs - but my core fat is disappearing noticeably ... Also my energy level is thru the roof ... curious to see what the next month produces .... my plan is to go 90 days & just see what happens

I’m down 24 lbs since April 1. People are starting to say “Hey, you’ve dropped some weight, hadn't you?” Still got 42 more to get to my ultimate goal. In 12 more though, I’m eating a steak and lobster to celebrate getting a little over halfway there. I’m not crazy strict on carbs. I’d guess averaging 50-60 per day. But that’s better than 185. I wouldn’t go back to my old eating if I didn’t drop another pound. Energy has improved. Arthritis and reflux are almost gone. Feel better than I’ve felt in a long time.

Good for you AC. We're staying pretty close to pound for pound. I started 3 days later and have lost 23 pounds as of this morning. I've dropped 3 belt notches and my pants are at risk of falling to my knees at any given time, but that's probably because I got the goneass disease. LOL April 3rd it took about all I had to button the jeans that I wear to work. In another week or two I'll have to get some in a smaller size to wear.

For you folks who like grits, try this recipe.
Boil a head of cauliflower til soft. Put in blender with heavy cream, a little cream cheese, Parmesan and garlic. Blend until smooth.
It’s good with shrimp for dinner, or conecuh and eggs for breakfast. It ain’t quite grits, but it’s a dang good substitute with almost zero carbs.

sorry if this is TMI - but is anyone else getting nauseated from time to time, and having a lot of very loose stools?? PM me if so, and if corrected, what you did - thx
