You’re not wrong but I can’t stand this mindset in public land hunting.

I got that but it's the same if there is a hunting the public bus or a truck at a location. Everyone knows what's going on and they are going to investigate that area. Just like fishing if people see me in an area and I show up with a big bag there will be several extra boats in that area the next weekend.

Just keep a bag of feathers in your truck and throw a handful down where you park and let them know he isn't there anymore.

I would do this type of stuff often on public. I would have a turkey foot and make tracks etc. I would have folks going all directions.

He walked down a dead end road, to which we had obviously parked at and went down (there was no other obvious direction to go from the truck).

Guy gets about 10 yards away and I shine my light so I don’t startle him too bad. He’s got everything any turkey video ever shown.....blind, decoys, shooting sticks...now he’s the second person we done turned around that morning. The other guy is halfway back between the trucks down a trail (he showed up at 4:30). This guy has a map open, sweated down, and tells us he’s fixing to go past us to a food plot that’s about 300 yards from where we stand. Which we already know that’s where the turkey is close to from hunting the morning before, or at least that’s what we hope.

Uh...no dude. You parked next to 2 trucks and walked down in here to someone who got there 2 hours before you got there. You need to go the other way back to the truck. Didn’t you see the other guy too?

Reply back was he didn’t flash his light at me.

Folks.....
If someone has a truck parked there when you get there, they are there first. Let them hunt. If there are 2 trucks parked there. There ain’t no more room. If you can’t get up to get there first, go somewhere else or take up golf as a hobby. You can book tee times and ride a dadgum cart to where you are going.

This was my point. Just watching the shows it looks like there are turkeys behind every tree and no one except the guys videoing chasing them. Ive hunted public land, that aint reality.

If you see my vehicle parked at a gate you are more than welcome to go in there and hunt but you won't find chit. That vehicles a decoy. I'm probably 3 miles over. I don't mind walking. Lol.

I hunted a small piece this season..around 100 acres that was surrounded by National forest land on 3 sides. I would get to a log landing just out of sight of our gate and listen from there as it was a high spot.

Every single morning I hunted there I had one or two guys that would literally Owl hoot and crow call from my dang truck! There are miles of road with public land on both sides, and 5 to 6 pull offs they could go to before the piece I was on..but every am.. there they were, at my truck listening to any bird I had gobbling..and then like IDIOTS hooting and crow calling to the bird ALREADY GOBBLING. slap

Opening am I made the mistake of getting one hammering. One of them ran to get between me and the bird and shot 3 times at him. Im pretty sure he crossed the line too and shot on our land too.

I killed the same bird the 2nd or 3rd day. I then learned to not get these birds gobbling much.

The funny thing was I shot one in there and get back to my truck with him. One of these guys pulls up and asks" Was that you that just shot down in there?" ...he seemed pissed. I said..."Uh...yeah."

I had heard his lame crow calling coming as he tried to figure out where I was and where the bird was. It sounded NOTHING like a crow, and I watched even the hens come alert and look when he called. The gobbler i was working literally came out of strut. Sounded like someone blowing a predator call..it was HORRIBLE.

The freaking moron went off...."why the heck you hunting in there? Isnt this private land? Why do you have to go after the birds on the forest?" slap

I decided time to wake the idiot up. i told him "you hear any birds gobbling in there on us?" He said.."uhh no."

I told him "but you sure heard those ones I had gobbling this am didnt you? Because you sure made it a point to run your lame arse in there everyday if I had any gobbling. And listen arsewipe....only a freaking loser calls from someone elses truck..but Ive heard your sorry arse calling from mine everyday and you crow call like chit. Learn some dang hunting ethics"

He acted like i was wrong. he was like "this is the only place I have to hunt..im not in a club. Why dont you just hunt your club? Why do you have to hunt the public land too..." like he OWNED it.

I told the idiot.."Because its PUBLIC and I can"

He spun gravel as he pulled out..and yep..you guessed it..next time I was there..there he was again. Crow calling just as poorly as usual. You cant fix stupid.
