I bet he has all his toys and add ons by using the plastic money. It's time to live within his means. That's one of the reasons things are so expensive if because people want too much and pay too little. Man up and do what you said you would do, pay the bill.

I agree 100%. First there is no reason for a man that makes 80k and still has his job to owe 50k on credit cards. But then decide he don't want to pay for the stuff he bought jeez.

I haven’t read the other advice, but I’d recommend he sell his 25 acres, sell all his damn man toys and pay of his debts and change his ways before he gets right back in the same situation.... which will probably happen regardless of our advice anyways.

I worked at a boat dealership about 5 years ago. A guy come in to buy a boat and couldn't get approved for a loan. Guess what ge did..... Pulled out a credit card and bought a $9,000 boat. He claimed that since he paid cash for everything, he didn't have good credit. rolleyes

I’d borrow against the 25 acres at a much lower rate and pay the debt.

Dave Ramsey says don’t borrow money on your home or land to pay off credit cards because it’s already an unsecured loan. He should call the cc companies and work out a payment plan like others have suggested. And also take the financial freedom class. Keeping up with the Jones has consequences.

So basically he just wants to put a screwing on the credit card companies. If he didn’t have the property and all the toys it might be different. If he had medical bills from some hardship I might could buy into it. But it sounds like he is wanting to keep everything. I don’t fill sorry for him I could have a lot more stuff for a little while if went in debit head over heals until I couldn’t pay for it.

I agree with Dave in most things but he’ll never pay it off at credit card interest.he doesn’t live on the 25 and should be able to borrow 50,000 easy at a good rate. He’s going to ruin his credit negotiating a deal with cc company.

Maybe that’ll teach him to not buy stuff he can’t afford. It’ll also keep people from loaning him money in the future, for good reason.

By doing the same thing that 75% of Americans do. Spend a lot more than you make. And save nothing.
