I bring home an extra hundred bucks a month in my pension check since the tax law change and I got back twenty bucks more in my Federal return. Thank God there is no state income tax here in Florida.

My overall tax percentage was about the same as last year. So neither for me.

Percentage wise we saved a small amount. It doesn't negate the desire to climb into a clock tower high over DC with some armaments and unleash holy hell.

I guess it helped us? We made less, paid less in taxes, and got a smaller refund. The change to the child credit and other dependents credit is about the only thing that saved us. If my wife had not worked less we probably would have gotten hosed.

I'd love to see a flat tax, but the number would be quite a bit higher than 10%.

The number I've seen is 22% sales tax on everything. I'd still make out like a bandit.

Yall sure about that? I'm almost sure I saw where the mileage deduction is up about 3 cents per mile for 2019.

I was able to claim mileage on my truck for my business.

I have had to explain this to several people complaining about their taxes. So far I haven't seen one that actually had to pay more taxes when compared to comparable earnings on prior year returns. Everyone was thrilled during early 2018 when they saw an extra $20-$50 on their checks but pissed because their refund wasn't a grand like it was last year.

I owed more than normal. If they wouldn't have messed with the withholdings I would have been fine, but I fixed that. Hopefully if nothing changes I will break even next year.

Still not possible. Heck, Tuscaloosa is already at 10% by itself. That would only leave 12% for the feds.

Still awaiting to hear from the accountant and am nervous that it will be really bad. We've had so many things change in our lives recently that I won't know whether it is an improvement or not.

I paid more in taxes, but I made more money compared to last year. I will say, when the tax code kicked in, my paycheck went up. I still got a pretty good refund for fed, my state pretty much paid for my accountant.

Not sure. Getting back for the first time in about 4 years but adjusted my withholdings.
