Never heard of propane going bad. Is it possible trash got into the line when you swapped it out? This would be my gas. Spider webs in the line? had that problem before where the orifice feeds propane in the manifold heat it with a MAP gas torch to burn out the bug nests usually the flame will be more yellow/orange tha blue if that happens
