Congrats guys. I chased some gobblers Sunday morning but could never get close enough. By the time I got close enough to know the general area they were already henned up. Very disappointing and tired as hell from running up and down those Coosa county hills, but I'd rather be chasing a gobbling bird than sitting in silence I guess. Heading to Cedar Creek this weekend, hoping to get on tracks

Hunted hard the last couple of days but came up empty. Did give a coyote a load of #9s, that was trying to sneak in for a turkey lunch. Back to work for a couple of days, then get after them for the weekend. Good luck at Cedar Creek pow pow.

Killed #3 this morning. Nice double bearded bird. Same place I killed one with 4 beards last year. Probably going to a spot in Russell co. In the morning. Haven't hunted there yet this year but I did get some pics of a couple of nice gobblers back in deer season. Hope you guys on the SOA hunts are having some luck.

No luck for me, I had a little action today but couldn't get close enough. There are tons of deer out there at Cedar Creek but not so much on the turkey IMO never even seen a track. I know there are a few out there but I'll take the local WMA.

Went down to Cedar Creek as a guest this weekend. After a couple hours Friday evening and all day Saturday we said to heck with that place. Walked I don’t how many miles and only saw a handful of tracks and very little sign. We did hear one gobble a few times on the roost but he went silent after flydown and gave us the slip. Ended up driving to my buddys lease in Tuskegee Sunday morning and getting a 12 year old his first turkey. Had a longbeard put on a show for about 45 min before he finally broke and started coming in to our decoys. Then four jakes came out and ran him off. They proceded to pick on my decoy til one of them separated just enough to give the kid a shot and he put the hammer down on him. It was a great hunt to get him hooked for life. I was slap tore up and didn’t even have a gun!

Got #4 today. Should be a little bit of an upgrade. He must have read the script because he did exactly what I had planned for and hoped he would. Good luck this weekend everyone.
