Dauphin Island
Of the two you listed, Gulf Shores. There aren’t many places to eat though. When's the last time you went to Dauphin Island? Reason I'm asking is because it's really built up, when ya come over the bridge, the west end looks like a mini Gulf Shores lol. I went last summer to a buddies house. Caught tripletail on the poles. Was a great time, plan on doing it a few times this summer 10/4. I really hate ya can't fish the pier anymore, I'd load up at night, and head on over, and fish all night.

Headed to PCB at the end of the month. Spring Break will be over, school will still be going, and we'll be there mostly during the week, so that will cut down on the crowds. I'm looking forward to catching some Spanish and who knows, maybe even a Cobia.

I don’t care if I ever go back to PCB. That place is way to crowded. I would say go to Cape San Blas but I don’t know if they fully recovered from the hurricane.
Aside from not being able to get to the state park, it has recovered almost completely.

Screw the gulf, go to St.Augustine Beach on the Atlantic. There's a great B&B there that only allows 21 year old and older couples. Beach is never crowded. Bunch of great beaches in Florida if you stay away from the PCB/Ft. Walton area and larger cities. We were there a couple of months ago and stayed right on the beach. We loved it and planning on going back.

Had an uncle that was killed (before i was born) around 79 or so by a drunk driver on the old bridge, and my neither my Grandfather or Grandmother has ever been back to Dauphin island since that happened

You had the quite beach during the day and th nice historic town at night. Other than a few places, the Gulf just kind of sucks now. West of Panama City at Laguna beach and Sunnyside is kind of quiet. Look for a VRBO or Airbnb there. We got a super nice Airbnb about a block off the beach at Vilano beach for about $120 a night and it was a beautiful 2 bedroom place with wonderful gardens all around it.

Big Al change things up and go to St George Island instead. It’s what the beach should be. This. Although I like pcb for some reason too. We stay at calypso, so close to pier park which we enjoy. Can’t go wrong with the hofbrau house pretzel and a liter of beer or two.

Perdido Key. Less crowded but you can enjoy the amenities & restaurants of GS/OBA and Pensacola. Good surf fishing and bank fishing on Ole River/Perdido Bay.

Sure it’s more crowded than it used to be, but it still ain’t a tourist trap like all the others. It’s just local south Alabama locals. I grew up spending summers at my grandparents house there and damn I love the place.

Pensacola. Stay on the island. Too many good food choices within 1/8 mile of the Pensacola Ball. You will want to return every year. We do!

Been to PC twice and it was a cesspool of human debris both times.

I've heard Mexico Beach is great, and a lot less "developed"....granted, not sure what the situation is after the most recent hurricane. Been wanting to go but don't know how extensive the damage is/was.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of.....which means when they start rebuilding, they'll probably turn it into another PC/GS
