I’ve hunted every morning except Thursday. With the exception of opening day, today is the first day I’ve gotten on a bird that was hot. Hens moved in and pulled him into a bottom. I’ll be back this afternoon.

Yessir. Heard 4 gobblers and probably 10 hens this morning on one of our club properties. Had 5 hens fly down the mountain over my head and then start kee-keeing. I have it on camera and its cool to listen to. We have another property a little further away that I can hunt as well. Gonna try to listen tomorrow before church at a public spot just up the road from the house.

How's it coming fellas? Called one up for my brother in law Saturday. Came in on a string and popped his head up over a rise in the field at a little more than 10 yards. Looked around for 10 seconds or so and didn't see a hen so he eased off back the way he came. Still not sure what happened but that bird is still alive and well as far as I know. Says he never saw him, about made me puke. I thought my father in law and I were going to double up this morning, came mighty close but it didn't work out. I've been all over them since I killed that one last week.

Went to the club last Saturday for opening day. None of the 4 gobblers I had located the previous weekend gobbled, and had tons of people there. Went to a small parcel of public land on Sunday where I had found one the weekend prior. Heard 6 gobbles and not a single one was on the public land. Weekend sucked.

Had 3 within 35 yds yesterday morning. Brother in law was with me. We were gonna try to double but they were in some thick stuff and we could never get a clean shot on 2 at the same time. He hasn’t killed one since he killed his first two years ago so I finally just told him next shot he got to take it. Nice 3+ year old bird. I’m hoping to get #3 this week.
