Sorry for being a bad team member this year guys. Just wasn't in the cards, I reckon'. Had very few opportunities to get in the woods, been remodeling an old farmhouse, and moved in the month of April......had few weekend I was able to get down to the hunting club.
Second weekend of the season, had one at 35 yards only to have my Benelli go "click!" I grabbed the handle and shucked out the shell, he was moving waaaay fast and all but gone. Eh, I tossed some TSS his way.... in frustration mostly. Checked the primer and not even a dent! UGH!
Next close encounter was two jakes I let walk, came in drumming and half-gobbling at daylight. Almost whacked one of them out of frustration that day.
The other times I had the chance to be in the woods it was cold/raining or storming. Birds were silent most mornings I was able to be in the woods this year. I was some tough hunting at my club, no one was able to connect on a bird.

Good luck to the guys still able to get after those feathered fiends!

Killed 2nd bird in Oklahoma and 3rd in Kansas. Should have killed 3 or 4 in Bama but made dumb mistakes. All 3 birds are posted. Roll Tide

Good luck on the out of state hunts. Sorry I couldn't add to the score. With rain and softball and non gobbling birds it was a hard year.
