My wife caught one when she was about 12 years old that was 4 ounces shy of the world record at the time..
I believe it was 4lbs 13oz... They weighed it after it set in the freezer for a month and was certified by the local game warden I believe... Red Creek taxidermy in vancleave, ms mounted it for her..
It's a monster for sure... Her dad thought it was a bass when they got it in the boat and after a little bit figured out it was a crappie...
It's still on his wall and he won't let me have it...
