Me too. It was my Dad's. I have recently inherited one just like it from my wife's late grandfather. I will kill a deer with it next year. Old school, no scope. CD.

Forkhorn with a Winchester .243 bolt action 30-plus years ago ... antlers are hanging on my wall 10 feet from me on a cheap Wallyworld plaque.
I still shoot the .243 but haven't hunted deer with it in years. Everyone knows a .243 won't kill deer.

Killed my first deer with a Remington 742 30-06.
My oldest (12 now) killed his first with a Remington 600 in .308 a big doe at 156 yards. The year before he missed a nice 8 pointer at about 90 yards and the year before that missed a real nice 7 pointer at 75 yards.
My youngest (8 now) killed his first last year with a Remington 700 .243 at 90 yards and has shot at 6 deer and killed 5.

Borrowed .243, don't even know the brand. Killed a 120 pound doe at 60 yards. Still got the casing though.
That was two years ago and I was 53 years old. Yes, I'm a late bloomer, but I am hooked now.
