Are they good chainsaws? I'm tired of snatching on this Poulan, my shoulder is numb.

Like both of mine. Get ready for the "better purchase a stihl" even though you asked specifically about Echo 😁

I have all 3 brands of saws. Stihl, Echo, and Husky. I like them all but the Echo warranty is very good

Is the Echo as easy to crank as a Stihl? As far as the pull cord resistence.

they do make a very satisfying splash when thrown off a high bridge like I did.

I have never owned an Echo saw, but I have one of their back pack blowers.
I've had it for about 10 years now and it never fails to crank on the 3rd pull of the rope a lot of times the first.
It runs as long as I want it to also.
I'm not the best when it come to maintenance of lawn equipment either.
I have a Stihl saw and have cussed it many times when trying to start it cold.

That's why they're called Pull-ons

Which Model Echo is best?

Gambler. What you using it for? I know, cutting wood, but what diameter?

Not an Echo but for $155 you can't beat this saw for an around the house/hunting club saw. I have one I have had for several yearsand one I bought month or so ago to have for a backup. Both were bought refurbished and we're almost like new when they arrived. https://sleequipment.com/husqvarna-435-chainsaw-16-40-9cc-x-torq-refurbished.html

Small Stihl works great even if you cut trees larger than you are suppose to.

Not what you are asking, but I bought a husqvarna 440 with 18" bar at northern tool for 200$. It has been a great saw and I do what you are wanting to do with this saw. 1-2 chords of wood per year and yard work cutting. I would buy another today if I had need for another.
Well, the way I see it is there's just too many assholes On a good day there's a bunch of assholes in here. On a bad day there's too many assholes in here.

All I know is the next one I own will be a Husqvarna. I needed to do some trimming on dad's lake place this weekend and was wishing for a chainsaw. Being an old forester, I knew he had one laying around and after a little while, I found one in the back of the shed that was covered in dirt and oil. No telling when the last time it was used. It was empty so I found some pre-mixed gas and filled it up halfway. With zero confidence, I pulled the choke and gave it a pull. The 2nd pull it sputtered and dang if that thing didn't fire up on the 4th pull! I used it the rest of the afternoon and it cranked like a new saw on the first pull every time.
