Polygraph would eliminate all the bull doo too. No, he shot at night, no he shot it over corn, no, he shot off the road, no he shot it on another fellers place and on and on

I've gotten to the point that I'm just completely skeptical whenever I see one of these posts because of stuff like this.

If the big deer walks out 2 foot outside the big pen with shooter waiting will he qualify for Alabama scoring system or does he have to walk around for a couple of days?

Yes sir...unless I know the person, I am always skeptical to big deer pics and how they were really killed. I've gotten to the point that I'm just completely skeptical whenever I see one of these posts because of stuff like this.

Here's an honest question. Why would someone claim that a deer that was killed in an enclosure on a pay hunt as being a free-range deer?? Most of those bucks are cataloged with pics on them on the high fence's website for advertising. I mean it is just stupid. Word will get out. Is a day of internet fame worth losing your reputation for life? I just do not understand this mentality and it seems to be a common occurrence that replays itself on here year after year.

It's been going on well before the internet. At least that is what Owen Walton and Mitch Rompallo told me. As far as a polygraph, I once failed one and I was telling the truth. It was part of a hiring process for a job but I was still hired. One question they said that was coming back as being untruthful on I was telling the truth. Doesn't matter now but I don't trust them after that.

Polygraph are not full proof, but I would say, best option they have to cut down on all the drama associated with big bucks

Me too. I’m genuinely happy for any hunter that kills a big buck and want to congratulate them on their success. Plus it gets me motivated to be a better hunter. But here lately just seems like a lot of drama and it’s brought on by the hunter himself by not being honest and forthright with the hunting community.

I'd say you can start wondering about the "hunter" when he has a staged professional photo and is not even looking into the camera but rather is staring into the distance with the glory of his mind...
In the area that it was reported I have friends and friends of friends that own a large amount of that area and the deer was not from their land or neighbors so yeah I was skeptical and my buddies just flat out when they saw the pic within 5 seconds said it was high fence.

Do any of y'all think that trophy hunting has become so much, the be all,and end all thing in deer hunting. That and people's competitive drive has contributed to the drama we see unfold. Should there even be a record book

What a dumbass. He knew that buck wasn’t free range n still entered it. He otta have his ass whooped for that
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

It's been going on well before the internet. At least that is what Owen Walton and Mitch Rompallo told me. Owen Walton...now there's a name I haven't heard in many years. Remember reading about his "new record buck" in Alabama Game and Fish as a teen, and being amazed. Didn't hear until years later that it was a fake. No internet back then, of course. I wonder if anyone from this site actually knows him?

Of course the dumbest has to be a tie for the dude that poached the bham zoo deer and then took it in to qualify for the Alabama Record Book and the idiot that broke thru Newell'S Fence on Bell Road in Montgomery and killed the huge pet deer; that was his 3rd strike as a felon and he got LIFE IN JAIL.

Walton was shed antlers he stole in Ga....or so said because the rack came up missing. He claimed to have killed it in Macon Co. Al. the best I recall.

Wasnt that the guy who shot / poached his deer in Georgia and told every product name for last second shot for Alabama record? Nah. He borrowed a set of sheds from a buddy in Georgia, then told the buddy that the sheds got stolen. Two or three years later, the sheds showed up on a mount that Owen claimed to have killed. Guy busted him because there were a couple of scoring marks from a disc on the rack, where he ran over it with a tractor when he found the sheds.
