I don't claim to have a definitive answer, times have always changed but it seems that the Vietnam war created such distrust in the government like never seen before and that trust has really never recovered. Every organization / country NEEDS a leader or leadership and we as a country have failed to find anyone to lead us. I could go on, but I won't. It's too early and I'm already getting pissed.
