I was told Conecuh uses liquid smoke, and does not actually smoke the sausage.
That’s a disqualifier. Maybe they use some liquid smoke but I have seen the smoke stacks coming from the factory. I don’t think it is just to stay warm. Probably like the white smoke at The Vatican to let folks know more is ready.  I don't care if they use castor oil, coyote spit, swamp water or virgin oak cut by brand new chainsaws. Whatever they use, it's good.
