Lamar county and that area is absolutely unreal when it comes to Alabama deer hunting. Probably the best overall hunting this state has to offer. Shut your damn mouth! There's much better hunting in Baldwin, Houston or Jackson counties. Hunting in Lamar county is awful.

Lamar county turns out a lot of 120 to 130 class bucks ,but most of the 150 plus come from 3 or 4 areas that's mostly private land ,one area in south end of country produce a few in 150 range every year with one pushing 170 every few years, but it has some farmland & hardwood not all pines like most of the county..Nowhere near the deer as south pickens co.

I agree 90% of the county is 90% pine plantation and really no better than any other pine plantation property in the state. The other 10% that is bottom land with ag fields is good like other places In the state that is bottom land with ag fields.
If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.
