Will burros keep the buzzards away like they will with coyotes? My donkeys, 5 of them, won't do anything but look at coyote. I've seen coyote go right between them and they just watch. But my donkeys have been raised with dogs around them, right nose to nose from birth so that may be the difference. None of our cows or anyone I know of has ever had a calf killed by a coyote. The coyote will eat the after birth occassionally. Wild dogs are a different story. We have had spurts of buzzards killing newborns. For whatever reason some years are bad and some years they leave them alone. Having 5 is your problem, being raised with dog's probably don't help any either. Multiple donkeys in a pasture will not guard a flock. You need 1 for that. Even 2 will mind to each other and forget everything else, 1 is usually a coyote killing machine. Don't know how they would do with vultures though.
