I'd never heard of Black Vultures either. Growing up, I spent a lot of time on my uncles dairy farm and can't recall a Turkey Vulture ever killing a calf.
A quick hijack - I watched a NatGeo show about Vultures and learned what an integral part of our ecosystem Vultures really are. Without them around to stop the spread of disease, through the years, mankind could have taken a massive hit. The things that their system can tolerate is mind boggling. Anthrax being one of them.
