Yesterday hunted till about 11:00, wasn't going to hunt the afternoon thinking about rain and working today so wasn't going back till next weekend. So went on a walkabout to check out a spot haven't fooled with this year, water mostly for the last month. Find an area where there are numerous scrapes/rubs, locate a tree go back and get climber, position climber. I go in/out with the climber different than on the walk about. On the way out stumble across a pile of corn and a camera. Now this spot that I go in/out is by the corner of 3 properties and some of the land was sold and there were 2 houses built on the property. Corn and camera are about 15yds over on my property. Remove camera throw in corn pile and leave.

Get to gator and look back at the house let's go pay a visit. Ring doorbell Dad answered door, we have never met, Let me introduce myself, tell him who I am and I hunt the land behind your property. Tell him I just found a pile of corn and camera behind their house, is it yours, Yes it's my sons the land belongs to some one else I think either power co. or paper mill. Your right it does belong to paper mill but I lease it. Now conversation has a different tone, mama has done got up and standing behind dad and little jr. is looking around mama. Okay didn't know anybody leased it, tells little jr to get big jr. So big jr makes it to the door, dad introduces him to me and tells him to go get the camera and not to go back their anymore. I tell them not going to take your camera but it is my lease and not to go back there anymore, if I find any signs that y'all are back there your next conversation will be with the GW. Dad assures me it is over, ok, let me say it again the GW will be your next contact concerning this issue not me.

Don't know if y'all remember but I brought in an early thread out poaching teenagers. Well this time I found evidence, last time it was just hearsay but told by the man who sold them the land, so it was reliable but no evidence.

Question now is, should I notify GW about this incident or just let alone and see what happens?

Not as interesting as Big Bore;s thread but it's a piddler thread.

They’ve been warned. I’d give them a chance to respect the meeting y’all had before I got the GW involved.

He’s already admitted that he’s ok with his son trespassing and baiting. I’d notify the GW and let them know

You made your decision, stick to your word, maybe they will do the same. I might put a couple of cameras up high to monitor.

There's a difference between having a casual conversation with the GW and telling him what's going on as opposed signing an affidavit for the GW to charge him with a crime.

I assume you mean the new houses. The one living in Larry's on hunting camp is an ex felon so he shouldn't be hunting. Last weekend hunters were checked by the GW behind Larry's with no tickets given i know of.

On a side note, 3 of the better bucks I've seen killed ever on this particular piece of property have been killed this year. 8,9, and a 10. The other side of the loop if you know what I mean.

Take my advice and tell the GW now!!!!! You need to document your case with him before the next episode occurs. Make a file with your GW. You may need it later.

Give them a chance, they owned up to having the camera on your lease, could have denied it and shut the door in your face. BTW nothing wrong or illegal with putting corn in front of a camera, unless you don't have permission to be on the land. I'm assuming you have it gated and posted. The only reason I say that is some companies policy is that their land is open to public hunting unless it is leased, gated and posted.

If they had permission then they wouldn't be piddling, It's not at the gate they walk out their back door 40 yds cross the ditch. It's leased, gated and posted.

He admitted the cam was on land owned by someone else but he thought it was a victimless crime.i.e. Timbermill don’t care. When he found out that wasn’t the case he told his son to go get it off. That might very well be the end of it. might not of course but hell who wants to live in that world all the time. Let it be, see if it’s a problem later. Most of the time Dad takes care of that.

He’s already admitted that he let’s his son hunt illegally so what makes you think he won’t just move his corn pile and do it again.

I would take the man's word as you expect him to take your's. All he has to do is move his camera and corn pile 15 yards and everybody will be happy. Offer to take the boy deer hunting, maybe he wants to hunt and dad don't hunt. I have been in situations before where a little compromise goes a long way and cause you to have friendly neighbors instead of enemies. Enemies that border the place you hunt can be a major problem as we have seen on here.
