After chambering a round he handed off the shotgun pointed straight at his buddy's face...or that was how it appeared on the video.
Like I said, I was not there and for all I know those guys are very safe hunters...maybe it was pointed slightly away from the other guy but it just doesn't look good at all TO ME.
Guys, I know I whine a little from time to time about the guys that hunt 45+ days a year (really I am jealous of them!) but I know that a lot of ya'll are great, ethical and safe hunters and think highly of the guy that does these videos.
I just don't think something like that should be overlooked. If it was me I would have scrapped the video.
As ya'll know, turkey hunting will test you in a LOT of ways...and I won't go into detail because I know yall piddlers know what im talking about
But in all seriousness, if a gobbler makes you compromise in any way that that goes against your better judgment then you're doing it wrong.
People make mistakes and I make mistakes but don't post the dang video.
But also, bear in mind this is coming from a guy that won't even point a unloaded gun in an unsafe direction. I assume that is commonplace but maybe it's not.
I'm guessing it wasnt nearly as bad in person as the camera angle made it look, simply because if it was, editing that out would be been very very simple. The fact that they didn't see a need to edit that little clip out makes me think the angle made it look worse than it was.....I'd have gone ahead and edited it out anyway, myself.
But, bad camera angle or not, handing someone a gun barrel-first is a bad idea.
There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:
1. All Politicians Are Liars 2. All Gun Laws Are an Infringement 3. Taxation Is Theft
Nice. The reworked videos were my favorites I was wondering if he’d do anymore of them. I know it had to be tough trying to do reworked videos while editing and uploading hunts.
That reworked episode just got me fired up. Sounds like the Pinhoti project 2019 version will be kicking off this Friday so we ought to have fresh content coming soon.
By far my favorite videos. Only bad thing is they make me realize how bad my calling sux!!! Keep up the good work guys. Good luck.
If it makes you feel any better, 99% of turkey hunters' calling sucks compared to them.
I always thought I was a pretty good caller until I started watching them. I've tried and tried to tweak my calling and match the sounds that they make but I just can't figure it out for the life of me.

One thing about calling that I've gleaned from these videos is the amount of clucking that should probably be done... both while walking and when actually working a bird.
Spending a lot of time penned in by hens and just doing what they do, probably doesn’t hurt, either. It’s good they seem to take the time to point out small things that many don’t get to experience without the luxury of lots of time in the midst of a lot of turkeys in varied settings. There’s always something new. You can never say never with a bird that has a brain like a pecan.
