Hopefully the Western side of the county is getting going. Going this afternoon and this weekend. Did you have any luck this afternoon? Did not. Partner had a 4 pt come to a rattle, another saw a doe acting like she was being trailed and a different 4 pt cruise a plot. Thats it though. I'm betting it pops off early next week. I said I'd only use one day of vacation for whitetail hunting this year, and it's going to be next Tuesday.

property i hunt on they have been seeing bucks, one big deer has been killed behind a doe. one of ther decent 8 has been killed also with a doe. they aren't " chasing" but they are hanging close

Well it is on! I tagged out yesterday on a nice 8 pt working a scrape, watched a 6 pt chase before he came out. 3 other 8's were taken off our place this weekend.

I killed my biggest buck 5 years ago the Saturday before mlk day with a doe. This was a couple miles south of the dam within a mile or so of the river. I would consider this time of year to be the tail end of what would be the usual timing for the rut. Other areas in the county further away from the river are probably getting good right now.
