Heading down to Abbevile on Thursday for our annual hunt. You guys that hunt that area (Henry, Eufaula, Barber), what are you seeing? Any chasing yet? Active scrapes?
Thanks

My cousin is in a club just a few miles west of eufaula. 4 members hunting this week have killed 3 racked bucks. Sounds like they are on their feet. Hoping I can get down next wknd and the weather doesn’t warm up too much.

Thanks I hunt just west of Abbeville and we are starting to see a little sign. They should be chasing in about 10 days to 2 weeks IMO

I hunt NE Dale County and we're starting to see a little sign also. Rubs/scrapes are starting to show up and finally getting the big boys on camera.

I hunt in barbour/henry. Agreed with the others. Young bucks are starting to move more and make scrapes but we are still about two weeks out.

Rut started a little earlier than normal with cold weather. They were chasing Saturday around food plots between Abbeville and Blue Springs area. Usually, MLK weekend is the best weekend from my experience.

Somewhat old info, so hope it helps. The wife and I hunted about 2 miles west of Edwin, Al. in Henry county for a few years. The rut during our best season was the last week of January. We killed these three bucks in a period of 5 days. 2 of them came running in to a combo of a grunt tube and "The Can" by Primos. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/f1PFv5j.jpg)

The last 10-15 days of January for sure. We are just now starting to see scrapes. 5 miles SW of Abbeville.
