I enjoy their shows for the most part.
BUT, I do not think that it is realistic that ‘the average guy’ would drive 8-10 hrs to another State, pay for he licenses/tags, spend a week in a tent and hunt all day every day to kill a young/small deer. Maybe if you lived somewhere that simply does not provide ANY hunting opportunity??? I don’t know....just not anything I would do.
And, as someone else said, they most definitely do their homework and make sure that they are line-hunting in the best private ground possible. Smart!

What these guys do is essentially cram a whole pre-seasons worth of scouting into a couple of days and then act on it during the right time (at least for their time in Alabama they are in line with the rut). I think they are trying to inspire any average joe that lives somewhat close to public hunting land to get out there, spread some boot leather, and get it done. Anyone could copy their system of scouting, we just couldn't do it in a 3 day back-back-back period, but someone who lives near Skyline, Bankhead, Sam R Murphy, Oakmulgee, etc etc could re-create exactly what these guys are doing on a much more manageable schedule. So, think of it as "being realistic" that any Alabama resident could spend a few days scouting public land in pre-season, find some spots based on sign, and go hunt and be successful. They apparently had a close encounter yesterday morning with a buck, so they are getting close and on the right track. And just to clear up (this isn't aimed at you hogwild) how these dudes get paid: youtube pays them. TV is a dying medium and advertisers have flocked to youtube and pay folks like these good money, because younger folks have essentially quit watching TV, all the eyeballs are on the internet now. The more likes, subscribes, and views you get, the fatter your monthly check is. Many content producers on youtube make thousands a month by doing this. Some make well over six figures a year. Not saying these guys are getting rich off of youtube yet, but they definitely get a fat check from them every month. And you have to imagine all of the products they use and promote are paying them as well

Good episode, they aren't doing anything cutting edge. But how many of us have spent 2 full days in January scouting instead of hunting. And driving for 4-5 hours looking for human sign as well as deer.

Dirkdaddy - you are exactly right about TV and YouTube. This generations does not watch tv. YouTube and other social media outlets have become their preference. I have a 30 yo patient that makes over $160,000.00/month from Google/YouTube for making stupid hand puppet videos that aren't even funny. He has a new Lamborghini and bought his girlfriend one. Not sure how many "subscribers" the Hunting Public guys have but these YouTube channels can be amazingly profitable.

I wish I had never found The Hunting Public. I am getting absolutely nothing done. Love these guys.
I genuinely appreciate their enthusiasm, hard work, and attitude. The production quality is excellent. Storylines are complete. Language is clean. And, their integrity was revealed when Aaron passed on the turkey 30 yards over the private land yellow paint. Could have edited that out and no one would have known.

I had no idea that our coffee ( Southern) tasted different from Yankee land coffee. Must be the humidity down here. lol Probably got some burnt coffee at mapco, coffee is fine at my house down south

I had no idea that our coffee ( Southern) tasted different from Yankee land coffee. Must be the humidity down here. lol Probably got some burnt coffee at mapco, coffee is fine at my house down south Mine too but I splurged on some Jamaican Blue Mountain beans over the holidays. Really cool to see these guys do this in Bama. Our deer are harder to hunt than any whitetail in the country

I like these young men and their enthusiasm for the hunting and the outdoors in general. I’d like to meet them some day and bye them a damn good cup of coffee at the Flying J in Satsuma. Nah they obviously aren't raking it in. If you've keep up with them since when they worked for Midwest whitetail you'll know their cars are junk and equipment is old, full of holes, or in some way broken and repaired. Just recently they got with legendary whitetails which is how they have a lot of the stuff they now have. They're all not married and no kids save one of them so they aren't necessarily in need of a ton of stability as 20-something's on the road. They're finally tapping into a market that I knew was untouched even when I was a pre-teen following my dad around the upper delta. Like why do the tv guys only hunt private land in only 3 states (iowa, texas, kansas)? This is a first of its kind content...public land hunting in Alabama to an international audience, and half the guys on here are already bitching over nothing.
