Inconsiderate people really piss me off; I go to UAB Highlands for a colonoscopy (all came out well) and the check in lady is doing my paperwork and in the middle strikes up conversation with security guard lady sitting next to her about how tough 2018 has been and satan has been on her all year(yes. dumbocrats), blah, blah blah. And; I am just standing there with my arms crossed. I been up all night, nothing to eat and not in a great mood. Finally; I say" Hey lady; can we get this done?" You would have thought I was out of line.

Since he had it on speaker he must not want it to be a private conversation. Go up and ask his lady friend what she is wearing or if she likes dudes with goatees. He should get the message and you might get her!

I always use speaker phone, but I will not take phone calls in public. If I am expecting a phone call to come in while I am out I will bring my headphones

Agree. Common curteousity would tell you to keep your biz to yourself. Quick story, we have a guy at work that's a real hustler. He's always running and gunning and constantly on the phone. I made it a point to listen to exactly what he was saying with the phone to his ear at breakneck speed. He was talking about his son's baseball travel game, his buddy that's asking for advice about a used Toyota ForeRunner, his wife and the list goes on and on. To the innocent eye, he appears to be a real go-getter. I estimated that 90% of his calls where pure BS and non-business related. If you'll take the time to really listen at what these overly loud folks are talking about, most times than not, it's nothing at all.

Makes me think of the "loud talkers" too. I just raise my voice really loud when I speak until their volume comes down.

If someone is talking on the phone with it up to their ear somewhere public, it doesn't really bother me unless I am trying to interact with that person specifically (cashier, etc). But, the talking on an ear piece that is not real visible just annoys me because it is so commonplace that if someone is actually trying to talk to me for some reason I just ignore it because I, too, have thought too many times that someone with an ear piece in was trying to talk to me. The whole speaker phone drives me nuts! There are some that swear they hear better over the speaker on the phone than with it up to their ear. That may be true for those people, but for sanity's sake, don't do it in public. The other problem with the talking over your speaker on the phone is that the person who is calling you may not want the whole world to hear the conversation.

That being said, I will talk over bluetooth in my car when I am driving, but I am usually by myself and if not, the calls are generally brief and whoever the conversation is with knows that they are being heard by more than just myself. And, if I call someone and ask what they are doing and they say they are driving somewhere, I just assume I can be heard by anyone else in the vehicle.

This is the best way to handle this situation. Since you know she’s talking to an asshole, all you have to do is be a little bit less of an asshole than that guy, and you’ve got a great shot at a score.

Along those lines, we had an issue at work, so I am talking with the HR Rep. as we are talking he is looking down/working on his phone( he is across the desk) I nearly had a come apart. Then very politely brought it to his attention that I thought was very rude being on the phone will we are talking. Him being a lot younger he was taking notes on the phone of our conversation. He got the message put the phone away and we finished the conversation and he never again brought out the phone during a conservation.

I think the proper response to that would have been to start singing loudly at your seat, or to walk over and fart on him.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
