Just wanted to add that the US is full of Uncle Buddys, but we are losing them at an astonishing rate. I wish I had known my neighbor Mr. Bob Sloane better before he passed away. He did some heroic things in the Pacific and was wounded but through bureaucratic FUBARS, he never received his Purple Heart. A local reporter and fellow Marine heard of this and put the wheels in motion to correct this oversight. Sadly, Mr. Sloane passed away before it got done so it was posthumously awarded. Those that lived around him never knew the amazing things he did, because just like Uncle Buddy, he just simply did what he perceived as his duty. I may not often agree with the liberal news media, but Brokaw was right. They truly are "The Greatest Generation". Don't be a Jawbone and miss the opportunity to thank a WWII vet and shake his hand.
