I ain’t seen one neck. We have a rule at our 4,000 acre lease if you gonna drink while you hunt it’s fine, just have to bow hunt. Don't think he was planning to hunt your place

So if a loaded rifle on private or leased property can get you a ticket,, what about my legal sidearm which is always loaded?
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

What law or regulation did he cite when writing the warning ticket? I can't imagine one.
If they pull me over here off Highway 150 and find a loaded pistol in my truck are they going to write me up for that too? How in the world does the presence of a "loaded" weapon in your vehicle while on private property (or public for that matter) speak to one's intent to illegally participate in the act of hunting? Is the fact you were wearing camo? The fact you were "in the woods"? The fact it was a rifle, not a pistol? Who gets to decide these things?
I mean how many people, including those very people who wrote you the warning, have ridden in their truck with a firearm/mag installed? So before I step into my truck after hunting I'm required to dump all rounds from the magazine or else I'm doing something illegal?
Good grief. Rant off. haha

And the DCNR wonders why hunter #'s and license sales are down.

Is it possible that the story might have been embellished a little to make the man look like an ass? Sure it's possible, but I'm inclined to believe the story in this case.

If you are pulled over with a hoodie on; are you planning to rob a convenice store? Are they mind readers?

Since there is no law against "having a loaded weapon in a vehicle on private property", I would like to know what the written warning was for. Also, just so you know, it aint against the law to have beer in your cooler, liquor in your cooler, or beer and liquor in you while hunting.

So what if they had beer? Doesn't mean they are drinking it while hunting. And drinking while hunting ain't illegal. Not so smart, but still legal. They could have all been knee walking drunk, long as they weren't driving, and they are still perfectly legal. Not the case in Georgia. Club member got a $1000 ticket for hunting while intoxicated. Well we're not talking about Georgia here. Hell they nearly elected aunt jemima for gov We weren't talking politics either. I don't give a rat's ass who almost got voted in but as a person born and raised in Alabama I'm not sure which states politics are more corrupt.

Know what the carry laws are in Alabama and have permit.

I'm not going to judge without hearing both sides. I'll just sit on the sidelines and watch. But it certainly appears from some of the comments here and the GC numbers that there is a divide between the DCNR and hunters. It use to not be that way. What happened??

I'd been pissed if that would've happened to me! But this is my experience with one. I was stopped by one in Cherokee county one time. My wife was driving my truck because I had been drinking. Rifle was on the center console with a loaded mag.I hadn't been hunting we was just riding over to a buddy's and was hitting the back roads enjoying the day. I told her to pull over right quick I had to piss. Got out and did it and hopped back in. Then.... she said she had to. Bout the time she got back in the truck a GW pulled up behind us and hit us lights. He was very nice! Asked us what we was doin and my wife said "she had to pee pee" and he said "oh ok". He then asked me if that rifle was loaded and "I said yes sir." I asked if I need to unload it and he said as long as you don't throw the barrel out the window you all good! Asked if my wife had been drinking and she said nope that's why she was driving. He laughed. I laughed. He said y'all have a good day. I had a cooler full of nattys and emptys all in the bed.

I think a lot of it is BS stories from hunters. Year hear about it on ALDEER so it has to be true. I highly doubt, GW's are going to write tickets based on laws that don't exist. Are they going to make mistakes, yes, are some assholes, yes. Are there hunters that are full of schit and make stuff up, yes.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

Most GWs north of bham I have ran into are all really good. MOST. But there's one in Morgan co who is a low down sorry excuse of a person. Seems like these run ins occur more in S bama these days

Well I guess I'm gonna have to start unloading my rifle while riding to and from the stands on our private roads. I'm guessing a loaded rifle on a4 wheelers on our private roads will get you a sure nuff ticket. It's probable best we don't leave loaded guns in our trucks in the camp yard either. Good grief!!!

When I go hunting I do what ever I can to minimize a game warden encounter. And if one does check me I don't talk to them. Anything you say can be used against you. I've been there and got screwed.

Buncha dumbazz hunters that cry about everything from reporting deer to being checked in Bama. Buncha little crybabies. Be responsible, follow the laws and you won't have problems. Do you want laws enforced or not????
