Clem, your right. The majority of callers to sports shows and even posters on facebook are saying how its no big deal and the drunk guy was as much at fault as the perp. Just part of the entitlement mentality I guess. I even saw one guy say " to the Victor go the spoils " .
I wonder what people would have said if the victim was a woman? I would not want to go to lsu this year if I were a bama fan. That guy ruined it for the average Alabama fan.

The whole thing is horrible and I hate that Bama got another bit of bad press. But you have to admit....that was the best LSU moved the ball all night.
Will track deer in Marengo, Greene, Sumter, Wilcox, Perry, Hale counties.

I doubt the New Orleans homicide unit had anything to do with this investigation. They are pretty busy after all. So N.O. sex crimes unit wants to jump in? What the guy did was disgusting but I've been to Bourbon Street. This crap and events that are probably magnitudes worse happen every day down there. Had these two been in regular street clothes and not "fan gear" then this is just another dumb prank on Bourbon Street. Fans got robbed, stabbed, mugged etc. but all this time and effort gets put into two drunks in a burger joint. Guy got fired. Maybe they should just look into telling him to keep his ass out of New Orleans or Louisiana altogether and focus their efforts on more serious matters.

Question for parents: That's your son who is passed out (it could have been a medication problem... could've. But I'd bet victim was drunk. But still...) and Brian "POS" Downing performed such an act and stuck his bird finger in his nose, ear and mouth and performed a mock sexual act on him.... would you be ok with it or would you be mad as hell at Brian "POS" Downing and everyone else for letting it happen?
If this happened to my son and he was the victim, man alive... somebody might die.
Regarding stepping up and stopping the disrespectful act, nothing pisses me off more than to have a teenager or young adult disrespect an adult. I'm a pretty in-shape 47 yr old and I would be willing to stand up for this drunken LSU fan and let the chips fall will they may if someone tries to stop me.
Some things are worth fighting for and I may have gotten my butt kicked when I attempted to stop it but I'd walked or crawled away with a much higher dignity than anyone in that video!

It is the concept of the police in general being more active in trying to solve this as well as the amount of time spent on this versus on more important problems in that city. That goes for any city. He stuck his balls on the guys head...foul and disgusting...yes...same as a guy dragging a woman down the alley and raping her? Not to me and it seems to me the time spent on this by the sex crimes unit would have been better spent on what I would guess are more serious sex crimes within that city. You knew the context of what was being said and you come in here with your superior acting posts just like bill used to do...attempting to belittle us and I take exception to that and THAT is the problem people have with you most of the time.

Wrong. She could have pressed charges. Any unwanted sexual touching is criminal. If your friend felt threatened she was within her right to go straight to the nearest police officer. Apparently she didn't. Also this guy was unconscious, he didn't have the ability to report it to a cop. It is his fault for getting drunk, but that doesn't give a person the right to violate him.

If a woman was passed out and got tea bagged would you say the same thing? If the perp was not an Alabama fan would you be bothered by what you are saying is no big deal? I think a lot of Alabama fans want to dismiss it or act like its no big deal and I don't guess I blame them. With AU's NC, updyke, ROLL TIDE WAR EAGLE and now the tea bagger, its been a pretty rough year.

They didn't spend much time on this at all, Heck ever sane Alabama fan, all LSU fans and many many Auburn fans were looking for this guy! More serious sex crimes? Sure, that is precisely why they have different degrees of sexual assault. You are attempting to minimize his action just because he has on Alabama garb and the victim was an LSU fan. From my understanding the police were standing right outside the building, maybe an employee should have gone outside and gotten them to remove the whole group from the building. As far as my child I would hope he had enough sense not to go get chit faced and not be with a group of people that he could depend on to look out for him.

I agree that it is sexual battery and if that had been my son I would have asked him WTF he was thinking about when he did it and would be ashamed of his actions just like if he was drunk standing on a corner shouting curse words at opposing fans. What more you want? He is in jail and is going to be charged...correct? I have no idea why the sports forum was shut down...perhaps you can enlighten us. Perhaps it was the sanctimonious attitude of some that came on there and posted just trying to get a rise out of others...shoe fit?
