So what do you need split ring capable for? Not being nosy, I just don't know what I'd use that for. I know it's for opening split rings for crankbaits and such but is that something you do quite often?
I'm guessing the little tit on the end of the pliers nose is what the split rings are opened with? If so, does that not get in the way of taking hooks out of fish?
Yes, and the little split-ring tit is worth it.
Or you can just get some split-ring pliers from Texas Tackle. Worth every penny IMO if you switch out hooks and rings.
