Schitty thing for them to do. And while this certainly doesn't excuse the invasion of privacy or the ridiculous eviction, I'm curious about a couple of things...
1. Why did she not have a lock on her door, considering she lived with other folks?
2. Why was her gun not secured (locked up so as not to be easily found)?
Although, as I typed that, I'm reminded of a time in college when I went to look at an apartment for rent. There was a current tenant, but he was moving out at the end of that semester. The landlord called him ahead of time to let him know we were coming so he could kennel his dog, which he did. So the landlord and I walk in, he's showing me around, and the guy had left his pistol, in its holster, on top of his dresser for all the world to see. He also had some hunting gear in the corner of his living room, along with his shotgun just standing there in the corner.
This fool, KNOWING that strangers were going to be coming in, left 2 different guns laying out in the wide open.
People are stupid.
