I also own both and have killed several deer with both. I hunt with the 6.5. I love that gun. It is a tack driver, low recoil, and fun to shoot gun. I use the 143 gr Hornady Precision Hunter ELD-X. I shot under a 1/2" group at 100 yards with this factory ammo. I've only started hunting with it last year and I have killed 7 deer with it. Only one did not drop in its tracks, but ran 50-75 yards. I love both calibers, but my favorite is the 6.5.
