I was in IL last week but I was just filming a hunt. I’m back hunting Alabama now.

Congrats on the doe. I have an older 7pt I've been after and was gonna hunt this morning. Walked out and everything was white with frost. Decided to wait and hunt this afternoon and go dump the rice I cut yesterday. Well guess who showed up for only the 2nd time in the daylight. [Linked Image]

Dang that’s tough luck! I have the biggest buck I’ve ever had on cam this year. Tons of pics but I’m losing the chess match so far.

No more points, but I was able to get an arrow in another Nanny yesterday afternoon...I thought I hit her well, but I watched her stand in the field for 15 minutes after the shot. We went in 4 hours after the shot with a dog and jumped her. We backed out and brought the dog back today and the dog went right to her...I’ll never understand how these critters are so tough!!

I let a good buck walk at dark today. I had the safety off and was on him for a while, but I couldn’t be sure he was up to par for my standards. My game camera took 3 pictures of him, so maybe I made the right decision. I plan to check the camera tomorrow morning.

Update: I checked the camera this morning and I guess I’m glad I didn’t shoot the buck yesterday. He appears to be an average 3 year old for our area...I would’ve been happy to kill him, but I’d much rather kill him next year

I don't. I talk to the guys that hunt around me and no one has shot a deer and not found it. Maybe it hit a fence or something. The wound wasn't there on the last camera check.

Congrats on the buck. Our season here at home is closed till Saturday. Gonna get after them again then. Going back up to the camp next Wednesday for a week. Hoping to try out the new Grendel build on a deer.

I killed that one with my 26 nosler. I either use it, my 6.5 Creedmoor or my little 308.

Thanks. He was a pretty good one. His antlers have beautiful coloring to them. The wife was kinda upset because she wanted to get him mounted to put in our house (when we get one) LOL

I'm sitting on a woods road in a pinch point between some thick pines. Been watching this trail and everytime I come to this area there is fresh tracks crossing the rd. Always some large tracks. Finally got the right wind and my ambush point is about 100yds from the trail. I'm thinking its that old buck we had pics of last month. We shall see what happens. Tomorrow will be a wash out and Sunday will have the wrong wind. Hope it happens today

Good luck to y’all...The rut should be rocking for the next 3 weeks at my properties. I’ll be in the woods as much as possible and I hope to kill at least one good one
