They’re illegal to kill up here because some state representative’s wife thought they should be protected.

Which is an unbelievably stupid way to manage wildlife - by letting politics, emotion and "Aw, they're special" win over biology.

True albino deer have genetic problems. They're not people, not "special" to keep in the wild. Cool to see? Yep. But their genetic weirdos.

Seen a albino Buck Spike years ago in Fayette county. I didn't shoot him and later that season the neighbors shot him. I guess I should've pulled the trigger.

I am not a racist. If a 12 point deer walks in front of me.....click boom. Brown or white I don't care.

Took some pictures of an albino doe couple weeks ago in Illinois. Very cool to see. It would disappear in the snow. Looked like the predator from the movies when it moved.

Also videotaped one 25 years ago in Wisconsin.

Hard to tell for sure from the video and still shots - BUT that didn't look like a true albino. Looked like a brown spot of hair around the antlers & tarsals and it looked to have brown eyes. A true albino would have been pure white with pink eyes. I would have hammered it...

The hunter that filmed that said it had red eyes and was a true albino.

Neat... We had a buck on hwy84 that was mostly white. Haven't seen any albino elk but, we have a blonde bull where we hunt. Just a spike this year so, prolly a legal 3 on one side next year.

grandpa once told me to never shoot a white deer, old folks say that shooting one would bring a lifetime of dad luck. Don't know if true or not but I wouldn't take the chance.
