I'm no expert, but I owned a Benelli Nova. The gun was never comfortable. The forearm was too far forward and I always felt as though I was overextended when shouldering it. I wouldn't buy a shotgun without shouldering it. One positive, I don't think it's possible to tear up a Benelli. I traded it on my SBEII.
Having said that, a 3.5" magnum shell in a pump is painful. Get a semi....
