Once again this was a cool thread and I enjoyed following it. I’m hoping myself and some buddies are going to make a trip like this next year.

Then you won’t have anywhere to carry your son and up his odds of seeing and being able to kill a deer around here.

I’ve got pics of that castle from a few years back when I went to Ohio hunting, it’s owned by a lawyer from Miami named Thomas R. Post best I remember. I believe it had burned, and he completely restored it. Cool pic Joey

I was rooting hard for you, JD. Just enjoy the camaraderie.

We hunted around Cadiz last year. Definitely very poor state from what we saw and people we talked to. Plagued with drugs. Deer population was also extremely high and saw them everywhere at all times. Saw 5 mature bucks in 3 sits and tagged out my second sit on smallest of the 5, a 130” 8pt that was pushing 250lbs. Couldn’t get right on another for my buddy, but saw 15+ every sit except one. Drove through Tennessee, ky, il, on way to Missouri this year and didn’t see fraction of deer we saw in Ohio. But it was nice not climbing those hills! Best advice I can give, cover lots of ground and don’t sit unless you have supreme confidence in the place, once you find where you need to be, you’ll know it. Hate that you lost your buck.

There's a castle place in Versailles, KY (The Kentucky Castle) off the Bluegrass Parkway just before you get into Lexington.
