Even though it's a constitutional right, it's certainly outdated. Hoping this turns out well. And hoping we can end it legally, within the constraints of the constitution/bill of rights.

That illegal immigrants are already subject to some other jurisdiction - the home country they came from - not the US. Makes sense, but I don't think the courts will see it that way.

Very similar to another pesky amendment that the left doesn't seem to like, namely #2.
pray it happens that will put the brakes on illegal immigration and cut out alot of future democrats. alot of people come here here illegally to have kids then use the kids as an anchor to stay

Yeah, funny how they choose which language they want to interpret strictly vs. loosely like that.
I think immigration is the issue of the next 2020 election. And I think Republicans are on the winning side. Folks are sick of being told we have to take in everyone in the world and support them.
I'd love to see it "fixed" where non-citizens and illegals can't slide in to pop out a baby and it has citizenship.
But IMO it's a slippery slope with a president using an executive order to change an amendment.
What if a Dem gets in and says "militia" is only military, thus the 2A is null and void for regular citizens? Even if there's a court battle and SCOTUS has previously ruled on the 2A in different things, the president could argue that "Trump did it with the 14th, this will save lives, etc., etc."
We're living in interesting times.

Agreed. I've argued for years that no other country just flings its doors open with a hearty "Welcome" like we do and are expected to do. It's bullchit and wiill continue to be the biggest issue.

Immigration into the US will not solve the global or even a single countries problem. It is millions of votes for the left, and that is why the left is pushing so hard for open boarders.

iirc I heard it quoted by the talking heads that we (USA) was the only country who allowed illegals that. All other countries you were not given citizen ship just for being birthed in their country.. You were a citizen of the country your parents were from. That alone would solve a lot of the problems.

Congress and the courts would just sit on their asses and do nothing like they always have until the President does something like this. He knows it's controversial and that's why he's doing it.
1. The founding fathers never intended for the 14th to be used as a path to citizenship. Enshrining the right of paath to citizenship was NOT the purpose of the 14th. The main purpose of the 14th is stated in the latter half of the amendment. It is to clarify and prevent laws being passed by the states or other municipalities that would deprive a citizen of "privileges or immunities" that are granted to all U.S. Citizens. (oh wait concealed carry reciprocity anyone?)
2. Trump is not stupid. He knows a executive order will not stand in court. It is a bluff and a good one, to slow down the mobs who wish to steamroll across the border and demand rights in country that is not theirs. He is pulling out all the stops to slow them down physically with the troops and mentally by make statements such as this. You have to take away all their hope as they march toward the border.
3. It is ironic that Kavanuagh who the left hate, would likely stand against trump's executive order.

Obama did plenty of executive orders that go against the constitution. I'm not saying Trump should stoop to his level, but it can be done and has been done. It will certainly be challenged.

The founding fathers didn't have shucks to do with the 14th amendment. So, they didn't have any intent? The 14th Amendment wasn't passed until long after all the founding fathers were dead.

That is the exact argument the left uses for citizens not having the right to possess guns. The real meaning of the 2nd amendment is in the first section. Interpreting the constitution to say what you want it to say is one thing that is wrong with this country. The constitution is what it say. Not, what you want it to say.
